I have painted several tanned hides for donations and for sales. Here are some examples of what it looks like:

These prices are for existing designs, add $50 to $100 for a new design based on the research and time spent to generate the new design.

 Prices for beaver hide with painting on it, start at $350.00 and up, depending on size and design.
